Gunther wins World Heavyweight title on WWE Raw

Gunther is now a two-time World Champion.
The Ring General submitted Jey Uso in the main event of Raw to win the title for a second time. The finish of the match had Gunther going for the sleeper. Jey Uso slipped out an applied a sleeper of his own, a callback to his title victory at WrestleMania 41. However, it wasn’t successful this time as Gunther reversed and successfully applied the sleeper. Uso fought to escape the hold but passed out, giving Gunther this second World championship in WWE.
Seth Rollins, who won the Money in the Bank contract on Saturday, did not appear during or after the main event. He only appeared once on the show, coming out after John Cena and CM Punk set up their WWE title match for Night of Champions later this month and showing off his briefcase.
Uso had held the title for 52 days, defeating Gunther in the opening night of WrestleMania 41 Saturday. During his time as champion, he defeated Seth Rollins by disqualification and most recently retained the title after defeating Logan Paul during last month’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Prior to his title defense against Paul, Gunther confronted Uso backstage and told him that he would face the winner on the June 9 edition of Raw.
