Jacy Jayne to defend NXT Women’s title at WWE Evolution

The first match for Evolution has been announced.

NXT GM Ava announced on Tuesday’s show that new Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne will defend the title at the all-women premium live event. On next week’s NXT, a series of qualifying matches will take place. The winners will then move to a fatal four-way bout that will determine Jayne’s opponent for Evolution, which takes place on July 13 in Georgia one day after AEW All In.

The following matches were set for next week’s NXT, with the winners advancing:

• Lash Legend vs. Kelani Jordan
• Zaria vs. Izzi Dame
• Thea Hail vs. Jaida Parker
• Lola Vice vs. Jordynne Grace

Jayne shocked the world by defeating Stephanie Vaquer for the NXT Women’s Championship two weeks ago. Vaquer has since been called up to Raw, competing in the Money in the Bank match this past weekend.
