WWE’s Carlito wins WWC Puerto Rico Championship

Carlito is the latest member of Judgment Day to win championship gold.

He defeated Ray González at WWC Summer Madness 2025, held Saturday at the Pepín Cestero Arena in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, to win the WWC Puerto Rico Championship. It’s his second reign with the title, the first came in 2014, when he defeated TNT (Savio Vega).

WWC announced last month that Carlito would return to the promotion for the first time in two years to wrestle on the show. The promotion released a statement revealing that Raw General Manager Adam Pearce had worked out a deal for Carlito to return and “settle outstanding accounts in Puerto Rico.”

With the title win, Carlito joins Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez as Judgment Day members currently holding championship gold.

WWC was founded in the early 1970s by Carlito’s father, Carlos Colón, along with Gorilla Monsoon and Victor Jovica. Saturday marked Carlito’s first appearance in WWC since the promotion’s 50th Anniversary show in 2023. He has held the promotion’s top title, the WWC Universal Championship, 17 times, behind only González with 24 reigns and his father with 26.
