Sheamus: ‘There’s no way’ R-Truth won’t return to WWE at some point

Sheamus believes R-Truth will return to WWE at some point.

During an appearance on Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, he was asked about the recent departures of R-Truth and Carlito, as well as the “We Want Truth” chants heard on WWE Raw.

“What we do, the fans get to know who that person is, and they get to fall in love with the character and the personality. Like Truth, for example, he’s one of the most beloved, he’s one of the most entertaining… I had my first dark match against him when I came up in ’07. I think I joined in ’07, ’08.”

The match he is referring to happened on July 22, 2008, at a SmackDown taping in Philadelphia. It was just Sheamus’ second bout with the company. Truth had returned to WWE earlier that year after having been with TNA Wrestling since 2002. Sheamus says the two bonded after and that it was always a laugh when Truth was in the locker room.

“He’s got a contagious laugh that would just light up the room,” he added.

McAfee noted that many wrestlers return to WWE after being released. Sheamus responded that he’s confident Truth will be back at some point.

“It’s not the end. So many people, so many guys and girls, have left and come back. It’s not the end. Sometimes it’s a bit of a break. And there’s no way Truth’s not going to come back at some stage. I’m sure you’ll see him again.”

McAfee added that Truth could one day be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
