Report: Corey Graves not appearing on WWE NXT tonight

Corey Graves might not be appearing on WWE NXT tonight after all.

Despite Graves hyping that he would have a lot to say on the show, PWInsider reports that he will not be appearing tonight (January 14). The report says Graves was spotted at the airport in Orlando this afternoon getting ready to leave the city. NXT is taking place from the WWE Performance Center.

With Pat McAfee returning to WWE commentary, the main roster announce teams underwent a shakeup with Graves being left as the odd man out. Michael Cole & McAfee are the Raw team and Joe Tessitore & Wade Barrett have been shifted to SmackDown. Starting last Tuesday, Graves moved back to NXT for a three-man booth with Vic Joseph & Booker T.

Graves posted a tweet late Monday night voicing his displeasure with the situation, but a follow-up tweet this morning appeared to confirm that the original post was a storyline. Graves said that he’d have a lot to say on NXT tonight and told fans to tune in.

He wrote in the original post:

Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something ‘dream adjacent’ and being pretty f*cking awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.

Graves then posted this morning:

I’ve got a lot to say. Don’t miss #WWENXT tonight on @TheCW TONIGHT.

Graves has not commented on the issue since that tweet. His brother Sam Adonis claimed that the situation is “not a work.”

Tonight’s NXT episode will feature the fallout from last week’s New Year’s Evil special.
