Report: Nick Khan took over in new R-Truth WWE contract discussions

The bridge to R-Truth making a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank and signing a new WWE contract was apparently WWE president Nick Khan, according to a report out by Fightful Select.
Following last Sunday’s news that he wouldn’t be returning to WWE, there was a public backlash on social media, chants during Raw and SmackDown, and several WWE wrestlers airing their grief on social media that Truth wouldn’t be coming back.
The outlet reported they were told it was a talent relations employee who initially gave Truth the news rather than a higher-up which only added to the situation given he had been there for so long.

They stated that Truth ignored WWE’s attempts to talk during the week until Khan himself took the lead to work out a new contract with both sides “meeting halfway.” No details were provided on the length of the deal or if Paul “Triple H” Levesque was involved at all.
It’s also unknown who made the decision to not bring Truth back to begin with and what specifically made them reverse course.
Truth’s surprise appearance came in the main event as he laid out John Cena, clearing the way for Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso to pick up a win over Cena and Logan Paul. New merchandise focused on Ron Killings was then released shortly thereafter.
PWInsider reported Saturday night that something had changed in the prior 72 hours as Truth was already getting inquiries from several organizations about doing business.
