R-Truth: ‘The truth has set me free, I am Ron Killings’

Enter Ron Killings.

R-Truth entered through the crowd on Monday, stood on the announce desk and cut a promo telling the fans to never let other people say they didn’t matter, as they heard, they listened, they felt, and they understood.

He spent most of his time talking about his alter ego, saying everyone loves R-Truth, he loves R-Truth, but R-Truth can be too funny, too nice, and too forgiving. However, he wasn’t. He said he wasn’t a sideshow act and wasn’t a gimmick. He then proceeded to take out a pair of scissors and cut off his trademark dreadlocks, leading shocked fans to chant “holy s***.”

“The truth has set me free. I am Ron Killings. I am the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Now put some respect on my name,” he concluded before exiting into the crowd.

In a backstage segment, Killings said he’s the one driving now.

Less than one week after being informed his contract wasn’t being renewed, Killings was brought back during the main event of Saturday’s Money in the Bank, spearing John Cena. That allowed Cody Rhodes to pick up the win for his team.

After the show ended, WWE put out merchandise for Ron Killings, using that name. They released more t-shirts following the segment on Raw.
